Cutter Bee, Honey Bee Scissors
Today, I pulled out my trusty Cutter Bee scissors for a project. It brought back many fond memories. When the OB unit I was working on decided to close their doors, a couple of us gals made a scrapbook for everyone. A co-worker loaned us her Cutter Bee’s. From that point on, we were hooked! We fought over who got to use them that particular night. They made precision cuts in tight areas. And, are even known to nip off finger tips if not careful! I wore the bandaide to prove it. Despite the injury
I highly recommend the Cutter Bees to anyone in the market for a great pair of scissors! They are worth every penny!
Tom Royal Blue, The New Betta!
Yesterday was the last day of school here. So, I took the littlest one to the pet store in search of a fish – a betta to be exact. He has wanted a pet in his room for some time. And, since he has been very responsible feeding and watering the dogs, we decided it was time. They had several all cooped up in their little bowls. We sorted through them, separating out his favorites. Then, he was able to select his winner.
Meet Tom Royal Blue ……
Strange name for a fish, I know. But, tell that to a child!
Eeewh! That’s just gross!
I woke up several days ago feeling as if a grape were stuck in the back of my throat. At first I thought great, I have strep throat. But, (gulp), my throat isn’t sore, no fever …. Fast forward a few days, and bam! A huge white clump in the back of my throat and an increased feeling that something was stuck there. So, to the internet I go.
My first stop was at Ebonie Expressions – http://kree8v1.wordpress.com/2007/04/07/stinky-balls/
Ok, I know I am a nurse, but that just grosses me out! Tonsil stones! Yuck, is all I can say!

I read that you could scrape them off (easier said than done). Gag, literally! So, I tried gargling with salt water, scraping, spraying with Vicks 44 throat spray, scraping, coughing and scraping some more. Finally, off it came. Unlike others, I resisted the urge to smell it!! Eewh! Did I mention … that’s just gross?
April showers bring May flowers!
I am definitely not known for my green thumb. But, due to the abundance of rain we have had this spring and the watchful eye of my little garden angel, the flowers are in full bloom! I have never before seen so many roses on this bush … especially all at the same time! I tried to wind the vines through the garden stake to support them standing upward. However, their weight just kept pulling them into this arch. I decided to instead enjoy their beauty, evidently the way Mother Nature intended.
Sand art …. vroom, vroom!
If you’ve read any of my other posts, you already know that my son also has a touch of the crafting bug. Well, I found him this cute little car at a church yard sale with the intent on him saving change in it. He saw sand art.
I must say his vision was much better than mine …. more colorful, more cheerful!
Seashell Angel
On our last visit to Myrtle Beach, we combed the beach for seashells (as any good tourist would do). We came home with a basket full. They have been sitting on the bottom of a table until the craft bug hit me.
So, my latest projects involved seashells. Simple, yet cute. (in my opinion:) ) I set out to make a windchime and ended up with angels.
The raffia angel above is my favorite! And, she will actually be hard for me to part with!
I also did some others with different types of seashells, ribbons and various other adornments.
I have not even come close to depleting my supply of seashells from the beach, but I could not resist the five ziplock bags AND two baskets of shells from a yard sale today. I am now prepared to make these angels for the entire county. haha!
Seashell angels anyone?
