Silverware windchimes
SOLD! SOLD!
So, the past two days I have had a ball making silverware wind chimes. No, really! At first I was a little hesitant … using the drill and all. But, once I found the right drill bit, I was set! I was going to make one for the booth to see how it would sell. But, I got started and three wind chimes later I am finished.
The one to the left with red, clear and blue was my last one made and is my favorite! Very patriotic and perfect for July 4th decorations! I bent the silverware all different directions. The beads add color. And the sound of the chime is actually very beautiful!
The photo below was my second attempt. I used all silver colored beads in varying shapes. I left the silverware as is, no bending, no flattening. It also makes a very pretty sound.
Not pictured was my first attempt. Not photographing it was an oversight on my p
art. I took the time to flatten the silverware and used slightly fancier looking silver colored beads. It is strung from a fork and holds a beater also.
I am tempted to keep at least one of these. But, will invariably end up putting all three in the craft booth in the next couple days. That is, unless someone out there wants one. $9.99 plus shipping costs to your address. Any takers?

How do you bend the tines on the fork? We found a bunch of silverware (real silver) and tried to blow torch and it broke. I don’t have any money this year for presents so I am searching websites for how to do this. Yours are really cute. Annie
Thanks Annie!
I pad my pliers (one for each hand – gives me a better grip than my hand and one plier) to try to prevent tool marks and then bend away. I have never had to heat or anything. However, I have read about other people heating. I find the tines bend easily. It is the handles that are more difficult to twist and bend. I wish I had better advice. Good luck with the gifts. I think it is a fabulous idea! To me it is so much more personal to give a handmade gift! I am sure they will all love it!
what a great site and informative posts, I will add a backlink and bookmark your site. Keep up the good work!
